Project Description:
As a public safety initiative, Anne Arundel County, MD has contracted American Contracting to upgrade
the existing water treatment plants at the Broad Creek facilities in Annapolis, MD. The objective of the project is to replace
the existing gaseous chlorine system with a new liquid sodium hypochlorite system. The project includes the following: - Installation of three large
polyethylene tanks for liquid hypochlorite.
- Two precast buildings for housing a total of four chemical transfer pumps.
- Four smaller polyethylene day
tanks.
- Eight
chemical feed pumps to distribute the liquid into the system.
New concrete slabs and pads for the outside equipment.- Updated PLC System for remote control of the new liquid system.
Construction began in April and will be finished
later this year.
