OWASA Jones Ferry Road WTP Rapid Mix Improvements

The Orange Water and Sewer Authority (OWASA) project, CIP No. 272-55, makes improvements to the rapid mix at the Jones Ferry Road Water Treatment Plant, 400 Jones Ferry Road, Carrboro, NC 27510. Bids are received for a single prime lump sum general construction contract.

Work includes replacing seven 24-inch butterfly valves upstream of the rapid mix with new valves and electric actuators or manual operators; replacing six slide gates with stainless steel gates and electric actuators; installing owner-furnished coagulant aid polymer diffusers in rapid mix basins 1 and 2; and replacing two air scour blower enclosures, with associated electrical, instrumentation and controls work.

A mandatory pre-bid conference is scheduled for November 19, 2026 at 10:30 AM at the OWASA Administrative Offices. Bids are due December 3, 2026 at 3:00 PM local time.
