ACE Scholarship Program

The ACE approach to career development empowers employees to reach new heights in their careers

Through this fund, we aim to support ACE employees & their children, foster real world educational opportunities to interns & co-op engineers, promote the conservation of our environment, and help build a brighter future for individuals committed to driving progress and contributing to the betterment of society.

Our goal is to help and support ACE employees’ children and co-op students gain an education beyond high school that want to enter the trades, or pursue an engineering or construction management degree.

Who is eligible?

External – committed co-op or intern (Co-Op Engineer or Field Coordinator Intern) working for ACE who is enrolled in an accredited college, university, or trade school*
Internal – children or grandchildren of ACE employees applying to an accredited college, university, or trade school*, or who are already enrolled in an accredited college, university or trade school*

*Trade school, a higher education school after high school, such as a vocational school, technical school, or postsecondary education program offering tradesman skills or apprenticeship programs.

What is the scholarship award amount?

An annual total budget will be set aside for scholarships in the amount of $25,000.00. Each individual scholarship amount will be $5,000.00 and a total of up to 5 scholarships will be given out annually.

What is the scholarship application process?

Interested candidates should complete and submit the application below along with two letters of recommendation. Applicants should also be prepared to provide academic transcripts if the review committee requests additional information during the evaluation process.

What is the scholarship application process?

A digital form will be available for download from the ACE website. Form must be completed in full with Name, Contact Information, and the following questions completed and documents provided. Proof of education, enrollment, or application must be provided in order to be eligible for acceptance and disbursement of scholarship funds.

What is the scholarship review and evaluation process?

Applications will be accepted during each calendar year. The start of the 5-month window for applications will be October 1st, and will close the March 1st of the following year.

Applications will be reviewed by a 3-person committee designated by ACE Leadership. This committee will review the applications received based on the following:

Academic merit
Recommendations
Leadership and community service
Quality and relevance of the answers to the application questionnaire
Alignment with the scholarship’s goals

This committee will then select the recipients based on these criteria. If applications were received from both high school students and college students, these applications will be separated and evaluated differently. In the scenario where both high school student(s) and college student(s) apply, one scholarship, at a minimum, will be given to each group.

If multiple applications are received, the committee will be responsible for reviewing and voting upon the applicants based upon the 5 criteria listed above.

What is the scholarship acceptance and disbursement process?

Review and selection of the scholarship applications will occur by May 1st of the same year. By May 15th, the committee will make their selections and notify the recipients of the scholarships via mail, email or through ACE’s online portal.

A formal announcement and award of the recipients will be made at the annual ACE Summer Picnic. The recipients will be invited to accept the award at the Summer Picnic and need to accept the award (either in person or remotely on a video chat) and agree to the terms of the scholarship payment directly from ACE to the recipient’s school to cover tuition and fees.
